Heeyyyy I’ve not been able to word this easily before but it’s bothered me badly enough and enough times that well here we are!
It’s really skeevy to reblog people’s selfies or candids to a porn blog (without OP’s express consent), and even if it’s drawings of fictional characters, they represent attributes of real people.
If an image of a person is not overtly fetishy or sexual, don’t reblog it somewhere you’d describe as a porn blog! This goes especially for photos but lemme tell ya, it puts a gross feeling in my stomach when pics of my oc’s hanging out or fully clothed snugging is reblogged to porn blogs just because they’re fat.
A person (or character) existing and being fat is not a reason for them to be fetishized. Putting their image out there in the same frame as overtly pornographic and fetishy pics, is inherently fetishizing.
If you’re not sure if it’s appropriate for everyday bloggin, and it’s not porn, I’d prefer you don’t reblog. Save it your hard drive, I don’t care (only speaking for my drawings, not about this topic over all!), but putting it out there to an audience that follows specifically for fetish fodder isn’t doing me, my characters, my art, or the people they happen to resemble, any respect.
But if the difference between “ok” and “not ok” for your everyday sfw blog is whether a character pictured is fat or thin, maybe ask yourself why.
I’d like to feel comfortable posting porn of these characters again, and for both kinds of content to exist publicly without the nsfw changing the tone of nonsexual images.
Bodies are attractive. But not inherently sexual just by existing and existing without apologizing for being.
